Instructions

T 500 Japharm is a veterinary vitamin B1 injection used to prevent and treat thiamine deficiency in horses, cattle, swine, dogs and cats. Each millilitre contains thiamine hydrochloride 200 mg, supplied as a sterile solution in a 100 ml vial for intramuscular use. Manufactured by Jaapharm, this injection delivers a concentrated, ready-to-use source of vitamin B1 that supports energy metabolism, healthy nerve function and recovery in working and production animals.

Key benefits and features:

  • Active ingredient: Thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1) 200 mg per ml.
  • Target species: Horses, beef and dairy cattle, swine, dogs and cats.
  • Indication: Prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency.
  • Form: Sterile injectable solution for intramuscular administration.
  • Presentation: 100 ml multidose vial, preserved with benzyl alcohol 1.5%.
  • Supports: Energy production, appetite and healthy nervous-system function.

What is T 500 Japharm used for?

T 500 Japharm is indicated as an aid in the prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency in cattle, horses, swine, dogs and cats. Thiamine is a water-soluble vitamin that the body cannot store for long, so animals under stress, on high-grain diets, or recovering from illness frequently need supplemental support. Because thiamine sits at the centre of carbohydrate metabolism and normal nerve conduction, a shortfall can appear as reduced appetite, muscle weakness, poor coordination, a faster heart rate and other neurological signs. Providing a dependable source of vitamin B1 helps maintain steady energy production in hard-working horses, productive cattle and recovering pets. According to the registered veterinary monograph, the product is intended for veterinary use only.

How is T 500 Japharm given?

T 500 Japharm is administered by intramuscular injection, once daily or as directed by your veterinarian. The dosing stated on the registered label is as follows:

  • Horses, cattle and swine: 100 mg (1 ml) per 100 kg of body weight.
  • Dogs: 1 to 10 mg (the label advises diluting 1/20 ml into 5 ml of sterilised water to give 2.0 mg/ml).
  • Cats: 0.5 to 5 mg (dilute 1/20 ml into 10 ml of sterilised water to give 1.0 mg/ml).

Always use aseptic technique when drawing up and injecting the product, and follow the dose and route printed on the pack. If deficiency signs persist, consult your veterinarian. As with any parenteral thiamine product, hypersensitivity reactions are possible in rare cases, so administer carefully and monitor the animal afterwards.

Is T 500 Japharm the same as TB-500?

No. T 500 Japharm is a vitamin B1 (thiamine) injection and a standard nutritional supplement. It is not TB-500, the thymosin beta-4 peptide associated with anti-doping cases. The two are completely different products and should never be confused.

What is the active ingredient?

The active ingredient is thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1) at 200 mg per millilitre, preserved with benzyl alcohol 1.5%.

Which animals is it for?

The registered label covers horses, beef and dairy cattle, swine, dogs and cats. Use in other species, including camels, should follow veterinary advice.

How is it stored?

Store as directed on the label, typically at controlled room temperature and protected from heat and light, with the cap secured between uses.
