Pentosan Evolution 20ML Injection

Pentosan Evolution is a  joint injection from CEVA that combines three well-documented joint actives to treat non-infectious inflammatory joint disease in horses and camels. How is Pentosan Evolution given to horses and camels?

Pentosan Evolution is given by intravenous (IV) injection using a 21-gauge needle (or smaller), and should be administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. The dosing below reflects CEVA’s label guidance — always follow the product label, leaflet and your vet’s advice for your individual animal.

Horses: 2–4 mL per 100 kg bodyweight. A typical 500 kg adult horse receives 10–20 mL by IV injection, every 5–7 days for a course of 4 injections. Vets commonly recommend a monthly booster after the initial 4-week course, with the full course repeated annually.

Camels: given by IV injection — around 10 mL for smaller camels (higayg, ligaya and iddah) and 10–15 mL for larger camels (thanayah, howl and gilesa), every 5–7 days for 4 injections, followed by monthly boosters and an annual course as advised by your vet.
