Tripart Paste is an oral selenium, vitamin and amino acid supplement from CEVA (NV), formulated to optimise muscle metabolism, support recovery and help reduce the risk of tying-up in performance horses and dogs. Supplied in a 250 g pot, it combines magnesium and potassium aspartates, B-group vitamins, selenium, the amino acids arginine and lysine, and added adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to help fuel hard-working muscles before, during and after strenuous exercise.
Key benefits at a glance
- Helps optimise muscle metabolism and energy supply to hard-working muscles.
- Supports muscle repair and recovery after exercise, training and travel.
- Helps reduce the risk of tying-up, muscle fatigue and cramping.
- Supplies added ATP to support available energy for muscle contraction.
- Provides selenium and aspartates that act as antioxidants against exercise-induced free radicals.
What is Tripart Paste used for?
Tripart is used to support normal muscle function and recovery during training, racing and strenuous exercise, and to help minimise muscle fatigue, cramping and tying-up (exertional rhabdomyolysis). By supplying essential co-factors and nutrients at the right time and in the right amounts, the paste helps maintain an adequate energy supply to muscles and reduces the risk of lactic acidosis and muscle damage. It is also a practical choice for reducing stress and fatigue when transporting horses or dogs over long distances. Tying-up is a well-recognised, performance-limiting muscle syndrome in horses; you can read more about its causes and forms in the Merck Veterinary Manual.
What’s inside Tripart Paste?
Each gram contains potassium aspartate 20 mg, magnesium aspartate 20 mg, nicotinamide (vitamin B3) 60 mg, L-arginine HCl 100 mg, L-lysine HCl 50 mg, selenium (as sodium selenite) 1 mg and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) 500 µg, plus adenosine triphosphate (ATP) 2 mg and uridine triphosphate (UTP) 1 mg in the paste formulation. The full composition and current label are available on the official CEVA Tripart Paste datasheet.
How is Tripart Paste given to horses and dogs?
According to CEVA’s directions for use, the adult horse dose is 10–15 mL and the dog dose is 1 mL per 10 kg bodyweight. The paste may be given orally daily, or as directed by your veterinary surgeon. To administer, place the applicator into the corner of the mouth and deposit the measured dose over the back of the tongue, or between the teeth and cheek. Tripart Paste is often used before strenuous work alongside performance products such as our AMP 5 and L-Carnitine, and with recovery aids afterwards.
Does Tripart Paste help with tying-up?
It is formulated to help reduce the risk of tying-up by optimising muscle metabolism and supplying selenium, aspartates and B-vitamins that support normal muscle energy and antioxidant defence. It is a nutritional supplement, not a treatment; horses with recurrent or severe tying-up need veterinary diagnosis and a tailored management plan.
How often can it be given?
The paste may be given orally daily, or as directed by your veterinary surgeon, with horses typically receiving 10–15 mL and dogs 1 mL per 10 kg. Many trainers give a dose before strenuous work and again to support recovery.
Always follow the product label, store the pot below 30 °C and protect it from light, and consult your veterinarian before combining supplements. Users must also adhere to local and racing regulations, because detection and withdrawal requirements can apply to competition and racing animals.
